Anglican House of Studies

Anglican House of Studies

The Anglican House of Studies (AHS) is a project of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa (ACSA) and is attached to the School of Religion and Theology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. It provides a residence for Anglican theological students. The House is situated on the corner of Oribi Road and Shackleford Ave (opposite Pelham Pop Inn) and can house seven postgraduate students. A full-time Director, Rev Canon Dr Peter Wyngaard, was appointed in January 2009.

AHS offers academic support to theological students during their studies as well as spiritual formation, including weekly Eucharist services. Short courses are increasingly being offered at the House in conjunction with the Provincial development arm of ACSA.  There is a small library specializing in Anglican material, which incorporates the older libraries from St. Peter's College and the Modderpoort Priory of the Society of the Sacred Mission.
